At approximately 2040 hours on June 24, 2018, the Commack Fire Department and Commack Ambulance responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash on the southbound Sunken Meadow Parkway, north of Jericho Turnpike. Units arrived to find that a single vehicle had left the roadway and coming to a stop in the woods, pinning the driver. Members of the Commack Fire Department utilized various tools including the "Jaw of Life" to free the occupant from the vehicle. Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps provided patient care and transported. The New York State Police are handling the investigation.
