Hauppauge FD-Vehicle Fire on Veterans Highway

1606 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Veterans Highway near Route 111. Units arrived to find an involved auto in the parking lot of 5 Guys Burgers. Crews from engine companies 3 and 4 quickly extinguished the fire. The 2003 Honda was a total loss.

There were no injuries.

Hauppauge FD handles house fire on 3rd street in Brentwood

1214 hours. While covering for the Brentwood Fire Department, who was operating at a commercial structure fire with haz-mat, crews from Hauppauge and Islip Terrace were dispatched to a reported structure fire on South 3rd Street off North Thompson Drive. Units arrived to find an active fire in the basement of a single story wood frame private dwelling. A water supply was quickly established and lines stretched on the fire through the interior. Mutual aid was requested for a ladder from the Islip Fire Department, and a ladder from the Bay Shore Fire Department. Brentwood freed up an engine from the other incident, sending them to the scene. Dix Hills sent an ambulance to the scene. Crews made quick work of the fire. The house was searched and ventilated. There were no reported injuries. The fire is being investigated by the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Fire Marshals from the Town of Islip.

Nesconset FD-crash with overturn in the parking lot on Alexander Avenue

1908 hours. The Nesconset Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Route 347 at Alexander Avenue. Units arrived to find an overturned Jeep. The occupants were already out and denied any injuries. FD personnel secured the vehicle, while EMS dealt with the occupants.

Nesconset FD-Overturn on Nichols Road

The Nesconset Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Old Nichols Road near Nancy Lane. Units arrived to find an overturned sedan on the shoulder. The occupants were already out of the car. EMS treated and transported one subject. FD personnel secured the vehicle and cleared the fluids from the roadway.

Hauppauge FD-Vehicle fire on the Long Island Expressway

1355 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department responds to a vehicle fire on the LIE near route 111. Units arrive to find a Jeep buring on the HOV shoulder of the eastbound lanes between 55 and 56. Engine 3-8-4 and Rescue 3-8-9 operated. The fire was extinguished without incident. There were no injuries. As expected, traffic was tied up in the area during the incident.

Centereach goes to Selden for house fire.

In the late night hours of May 24th 2016 the Selden Fire Department was activated for a reported residential structure fire on Magnolia Drive. Upon arrival, Chief Michael Matteo 5-25-30 was met with an active fire in the basement of the home. Dispatch was advised to reactivate for a working fire and mutual aid was requested from Terryville, Centereach, Coram & Farmingville. Multiple attack lines were stretched and the fire was quickly knocked down by first due units. Firefighters safely removed 3 cats from the home, no injuries were reported. Command requested a Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal to the scene for an investigation.

Smithtown FD-Crash with injuries on West Jericho

1638 hours. The Smithtown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Jericho Turnpike, west of Old Willets Path. Units arrived to find a crash involving two vehicles in the east bound lanes. No extrication was required but two subjects were treated and transported to the hospital via ambulance.
